Spirit of ZENSORS makes it to Cannes Film Festival

20 04 2011

Internationally acclaimed filmmaker Auraeus Solito’s new film called “Busong”, has been selected for the Cannes Film Festival, Director’s Forthnight 2011.

“Busong” according to the filmmaker is the indigenous Palawan concept of Fate or instant Karma. With this in mind, “Busong” can come to one in good spirit or the other way around. Luckily, the news of “Busong” journeying to the Cannes Film Festival Director’s Forthnight 2011 reflects a very positive karma.

The film’s Director, Auraeus Solito and Music&Sound Designer, Diwa De Leon, first met through a Philippine-Japan collaborative exchange initiative, ZENSORS, curated by Vanini Belarmino. Both graduates of the University of the Philippines, Auraeus and Diwa have created waves in their respective artistic genres for more than a decade . Auraeus is no new comer in such prestigious film environment. The Sundance Film Festival and Berlinale are among the number of international platforms that have given him recognition. Diwa, on the other hand, is one of the most sought after composers in the Philippines specialising on film, television and stage music.

Auraeus humbly attests, “Thanks to Zensors, Diwa and I got connected and have started to have a great working team-up,” after being congratulated by the ZENSORS’ producer on the completion of his new film.

Belarmino&Partners is proud to share the triumph and good spirit of these artists.
